Another First Friday Art Around Town, March 5, and here is the ambient music line up so far:
Bill James (guitar, singer, original tunes): CrossRoads Gallery
Rubi Red (ukulele, singer, originals and cover tunes) : Gallery 'n GIfts
Russell Keyes (monster guitarist, many pop cover tunes): Home Consignment Gallerie
Pat Strong Trio (guitar and harmonies, everything from soft rock to jazz standards): Oak Tree Antiques.
First Friday Art around town is here! Musically, this time we have: Tony Vice at CrossRoads, Susie Hastings (hammered dulcimer) at Gallery 'n Gifts, which is also their Photo Contest winners awards and show, and I may strum a few tunes next door at Oak Tree Antiques. If Home Consignment is on for the evening, then Russel Keys will be playing guitar there.
Channukka, Hanukah, Hanukka, Chanukkah ...However ya spell it, starts tonight, Friday Dec 11.

We don't have a solo or duet musical act yet for CrossRoads, but I am sure we will by Dec 4, so please be sure to come by and have a listen whilst you make your FF Art Around Town rounds. (We are open for repeat performers this night. If you are available call me!) XRoads starts their gallery showings at 5 pm, and the music will usually begin by around 6 pm. If I remember correctly I think Sparks is scheduled to be one of the featured artists at CrossRoads this month?
Here are two amazing and creative videos. This first video was pasted into my facebook home via a post by Joe Craven. It is a couple years old but I have never seen it and I thought I would share. Very genius! Do a search for Michel Lauziere and check this guy out!
(I do not know how to imbed video so here below are the links to click on)
There are a few news stories floating around that a new Leonardo painting has been found, or rather, that the original artist is Da Vinci and not an unknown German Painter from a few centuries more recent. There are of course already arguments on both sides about authentication. This should be interesting to see how this plays out as it unfolds before our very eyes!

Sorry, still nobody etched in stone to play at any of the First Friday Art Walk venues this coming October 2. Some musicians are still out of town for other end of summer happenings. I have a couple musicians interested playing in November, including one of Suzan Christenson's friends. If anyone wants to play music at First Friday's from around 6 to 8 pm then just give me a holler here. The art venues request that there be no more than two musicians per place because of space restrictions, and they do allow musicians put tip jars out.
Got this email from Stan, field trip meister for Terhachapi Gem and Mineral Society, and I thought I would post it rite'chere. I do think the date of 10/26 should indeed be 9/26 if he is talking about this coming Saturday.... do give Stan or Danny a call if you are interested in trekking along.
