hypocrite nation

though we preach humanity

we see ourselves

less clearly than others do

we are hypocritical

Author's note:  A Tanka is another oriental poetic form, similar to Haiku. Its origin is Korean and has 31 syllables. The formula for a Tanka is 5-7-5-7-7 syllables for a 5 line poem.

Hi Randy

Hi Randy,

Just wanted to let you know I am reading your work and learning.  I miss all of you.  I have finally made a choice about where I am really headed.  I have been home with my son for the past 2 weeks, watching my grandkids grow....loads of fun, tiring, they are 13, 11, 6, and 5....Wow!  Its been a while since I have had to take care of so many kids...very rewarding, helping with school work, cooking, cleaning and tucking them in at night.....tears, love and kisses.  New poems being written about each one of them.

I am going to Portland, I have enrolled in the Attic, it a writers workshop, lots of classes.  I will be leaving Reno on Sept 20th for the 10 hour drive, staying with friends.  Also great open mikes in Portland.  I will publish one Poetry Book this winter and finish my other work, with the help of the Attic.  Please keep in touch,  wavesdayspa@msn.com   Wendy
